ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In accordance with Board Policies, transportation is provided for students who live within their Home School attendance area and outside their school's grade appropriate Non-Transportation Zone as follows:

All YCDSB and YRDSB students in grades JK-3 who live within 1.2KM of their school are not eligible for transportation.

All YCDSB and YRDSB students in grades 4-8 who live within 1.6 KM of their school are not eligible for transportation.

All YCDSB students in grades 9-12 who live within 4.8 KM of their school in a transit served area are not eligible for transportation.

All YRDSB students in grades 9-12 who live within  a transit served area are not eligible for transportation.

Students living in a non-transit served area are eligible for transportation if they live farther than 3.2KM from their
school.

STSYR creates bus stops at safe, centralized locations. Students are required to walk a short distance to and from these centralized bus stops. The Policies of the York Catholic and York Region District School Boards state, elementary students are required to walk up to 400 metres to bus stops and secondary students up to 600 metres. Having students walk to centralized bus stops increases routing efficiency and reduces the amount of time students spend traveling on a school bus.

Please note all bus stop information is subject to traffic and weather conditions and actual service times can vary on a daily basis. As a result, students are asked to arrive at their bus stops five minutes prior to times posted on this website.
